Pathways to Work Expo
Grazeland
An event connecting young people in Hobsons Bay and surrounds with pathways to employment through recruiting experts, local businesses and industry leaders.
Produced the inaugural event on behalf of the Mayor of Hobsons Bay, in response to community feedback regarding recognising those with employment barriers within the municipality.
Risk assessed the event with laws applicable to the underage demographic.
Created an inclusive environment to ensure all visitors were able to seek appropriate information and assistance.
About the event
The Pathways to Work Expo was designed to connect young people in and around Hobsons Bay with a range of pathways to employment.
75 exhibitors descended on Spotswood’s Grazeland to offer advice and mentorship, provide resume support, and promote opportunities available in the west.
Exhibitors included local business, internships and apprenticeship, employment services and industry experts, as well as further training and study opportunities.
The free event, attended by around 500 people, was presented by Hobsons Bay City Council in partnership with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, and supported by Workforce Australia Local Jobs - Western Melbourne.
